So for a novice KSA builder like you, we do have some tips that can really help you build a powerful KSA for yourself.
You need to remember, to include the information published in the advertisement such as the Job code or Reference, the specific grade if published and, or the Job title.
It’s very important for you to ensure that you do not miss out on information like your name, your full address with zip code, your SSN etc. Other information like your civilian grade and demographics related to your previous jobs needs to be included in the KSA.
As the KSA builder you need to mention detailed dates about your educational qualification. Which must include the names of the institutions and the year of passing out. Mention details about the degree or the diploma that you received. Along with the grades that were obtained. Do not forget to highlight the grades part. The subjects in whom you did your major are of prime importance and they should be highlighted too.
Point to be noted while mentioning the previous details is you can use the bullet point technique which is effective in case you are applying a position for a civilian post. But incase you are applying for a federal position try to avoid using bullet points as they are not much appreciated for such positions. While applying for a federal position, it is advisable to be as elaborate as possible with the data around your experience and qualifications. You need to ensure that all the relevant details are explained properly and not just touched upon. You need to understand that there is a huge difference between to the point detailed information and less information.
You need not be spooked or disheartened if your educational qualification does not match with the criteria exactly. The other option here is to have the required number of experience in the specific field. This is something too that would make you still eligible for the position that you wish to apply for. Thus in that case it’s obvious that you would be putting a lot of stress on the experience and about each relevant detail around it.
