MAJOR DUTIES:
Analyzes loan applications and related financial documents, considering such factors as assets, liabilities, capital, business projections, income flow, prospective earnings, repayment ability, collateral values and lien positions, to determine the merit of the loan request.
Makes a size determination and determines the eligibility of the applicant and eligibility of the project and project costs. Analyzes the applicant's credit and assesses the financial condition and management depth of the business and the principal(s). Prepares comprehensive loan officer's report summarizing the analysis of the loan request.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
You must have one year specialized experience. Specialized experience is experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position being filled. Specialized experience must be equivalent to at least the next lower grade level for the occupation. You must meet these qualifications by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized experience must be described for each grade level. See example below.
GS-09: To qualify at the GS-9 level, applicants must posses a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related or one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least a GS-7 grade level in federal service. (If qualifying based on education only, you must submit official transcripts.) Specialized experience includes: Experience with basic components of credit evaluation to assess factual information and interpret and develop conclusions from financial statements and other related material.
GS-11: To qualify at the GS-11 level, applicants must posses a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related or one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least a GS-9 grade level in federal service. (If qualifying based on education only, you must submit official transcripts.) Specialized experience includes: Experience analyzing financial statements and earning potential of a variety of business enterprises to make recommendations for commercial/business loan applications.
GS-12: To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in federal service. Specialized experience includes: Experience performing in-depth analysis of obligor's present and future financial condition in determining the appropriateness of a commercial/business loan application, including knowledge of a wide variety of collateral, business types, loan programs, and general economic conditions.
