American Council of the Blind annually awards many scholarships
to blind students.

financial aid for students with disabilities.

financial aid for college students with disabilities.
National Directory

with Disabilities (Canada) - A truly comprehensive nation-wide listing of scholarships and
other financing sources.
Bank of America
ADA Abilities Scholarship
This scholarship is to support students that meet the definition
of disabled as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Applicant should pursue a degree in Finance, Business or Computer
Systems with an interest in the financial services industry.
Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants
cannot be an employee or dependent of an employee associated
with NationsBank or Bank of America.
Mary P. Oenslager Scholastic Achievement
Awards
To be eligible for these awards, you must be legally blind; be
registered with Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic for at least
one year prior to February 21st of the current academic year
(individually or through an institution); have received a bachelor’s
degree from an accredited four-year college or university in
the United States or its territories between a specific time
period; and possess a minimum GPA of 3.0.
National Federation of the Blind Scholarships
The National Federation of the Blind Scholarship is offering
26 scholarships to recognize achievement by blind scholars. All
applicants for these scholarships must be (1) legally blind and
(2) pursuing or planning to pursue a full-time post-secondary
course of study in the fall semester in the U.S. One scholarship
may be given to a full-time employee also attending school part-time.
ASCLA Century
Scholarship - The annual
$2,500 scholarship will fund services or accommodation for a
library school student or students with disabilities admitted
to an ALA-accredited library school. The scholarship will fund
services or accommodations that are either not provided by law
or otherwise by the university that will enable the student or
students to successfully complete the course of study for a Master's
or Doctorate in Library Science and become a library or information
studies professional.
Ethel Louise Armstrong
Foundation Scholarship is for any woman with a physical disability who is pursuing graduate
studies at a university in the United States. They are especially
looking for women who are involved in the disability community
in their local area.
Pfiser Epilepsy
Scholarship Award -
16 scholarships for students with epilepsy ($3000 each).
INTERNSHIPS
Kennedy Center
for Performing Arts - has approximately 60 internship opportunities annually and
is more than willing to consider and accommodate interns with
disabilities.
Emerging Leaders - an internship program
for students with disabilities that draws interns from across
the US.
Entry Point - is a program of the American Association for
the Advancement of Science (AAAS) offering internship opportunities
for students with disabilities in Science, Engineering, Mathematics,
Computer Science, and some fields of Business.
Ability
Edge (Canada) - focuses
on helping university, college and high school graduates with
disabilities gain career-building experience.
The Washington Center - 50 competitive internship positions
to help students develop leadership skills and gain valuable
work experience in public service. |
