Position is full-time non-exempt (hourly) working with the Life Cycle Contractor Support for the WTA/WFF Program, National Training Center Instrumentation System (NTC-IS). The NTC-IS is located at Fort Irwin, CA, in the Mojave Desert, approximately forty miles northeast of Barstow, CA. NTC-IS operations support the NTC mission: to provide realistic joint and combined arms training focused on developing soldiers, leaders, and units of the United States military for success on the 21st Century Battle Field.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs limited aspects of technical supply management work (e.g. inventory, storage, receipt, issue, cataloging, and property utilization) related to depot, local or other supply activities. Complete and manage hand receipts and/or related documents. Conduct inventories on material storerooms which could include up to 5 separate maintenance facility storerooms. Knowledge of Microsoft Office application, Maximo, or UNIX based systems.
Work is usually segregated by commodity area or function, and usually controlled in terms of difficulty, complexity, or responsibility. Assignments usually relate to, but are not limited to, stable or standardized segments of technical supply management operations; or to functions or subjects that are narrow in scope or limited in difficulty. This work may require consideration of program requirements, together with specific variations from standardized guidelines, and other related procedures and/or contract requirements.
Uses advanced skills and knowledge of supply procedures to receive, issue and turn-in expendable and non-expendable supplies required to the support the NTC-IS. Provides prescribed load list (PLL) and the Army maintenance management system (TAMMS) support functions. Responsible for requisitioning, receiving, and storing of repair parts. Repair part requests will be processed through the US Army SAMS E maintenance system. Conduct inventories in accordance with AR 38-750 Army Logistics Management System. Establishes and maintains a reference library of Government furnished materials required to operate and maintain assigned and supported vehicles. Coordinates with support maintenance and supply activities for the issue turn in Class VII and direct exchange items. Responsible for the dispatch of vehicles, maintenance of records in both the SAMS E and, the NTC-IS MAXIMO system. vehicle operational forms and records. Orders packaged petroleum, oil and lubricant (POL) products. May assist in the development of a recommended repair parts stock list based on usage data. Monitors shelf life items to ensure they are issued on a first in, first out basis. Will adhere to; Site Manager, Division Manager and Team leader directives, memoranda, policies and procedures. Support quality/ISO, security and training programs.
REQUIREMENTS
Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Desired Education: Military Experience and/or Associates Degree in related field.
Experience: Minimum two (2) years experience as a supply technician, to include practical experience with logistics management systems, associated military systems.
Physical Abilities: Ability to perform duties with travel in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, and wind) and at height (helicopter travel, mountain tops, elevated walk areas and towers).
Special Requirements: Maintain Post driving privileges. Obtain Military drivers licenses, Travel off road in company 4×4 vehicles and military tactical vehicles. Must be able to lift a maximum of 50lbs and wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Must be able to travel up to 20% on Company time. Willing to work any shift to include weekends, Holidays and overtime. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
